Great Lakes Glass Hardware
Scope of Responsibility (Critical Notice)
Great Lakes Glass Hardware supplies glass railing hardware components only, including but not limited to base rail systems, spigots, standoff pins, brackets, fasteners, and related accessories.
We do not design, install, or inspect glass railing systems. As such, Great Lakes Glass Hardware is not responsible or liable for:
- Installation labor or workmanship
- Glass panels of any kind (including fabrication, sizing, drilling, tempering, laminating, or breakage)
- Jobsite measurements, layout decisions, or engineering
- Building code compliance, permitting, or inspections
- Mounting structures or substrates (wood framing, concrete, steel, waterproofing systems, fascia, etc.)
- Anchors, fasteners, adhesives, or mounting methods selected or used by others
- Structural movement, settling, or failure of any supporting surface
- Improper installation, misuse, modification, or lack of maintenance
Responsibility is limited strictly to manufacturing defects in the hardware products supplied.
Warranty Summary
All hardware products sold by Great Lakes Glass Hardware are covered by a one (1) year limited warranty against manufacturing defects, beginning on the date the product is received.
This warranty covers only the hardware itself and does not cover installation, glass, finishes affected by environment, or any labor or secondary costs.

Returns & Restocking
- Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery. Be sure to inspect your shipment shortly after receiving the items
- Returned items must be unused, uninstalled, and in new, resalable condition

All approved returns are subject to a 10% restocking fee
- Original shipping charges are non-refundable
- Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer
Non-returnable items include:
- Custom-cut or made-to-order products
- Items showing signs of installation, modification, or damage
Refunds are issued after inspection and approval.
Order Accuracy & Cancellations
Please review order confirmations carefully. Changes or cancellations must be requested immediately.
Orders that have shipped may not be eligible for cancellation.
Shipping & Delivery
- Risk of loss transfers to the customer upon shipment
- Inspect all shipments upon delivery
- Shipping damage must be documented with the carrier and reported promptly
Failure to report damage in a timely manner may limit claim eligibility.
Installation & Safety Disclaimer
All products must be installed by qualified individuals and used only for their intended purpose. Installation must comply with all applicable building codes, safety standards, and regulations.
While Great Lakes Glass Hardware will provide basic installation guidance and recommendations, the company assumes no responsibility for installation outcomes.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- Liability is limited to the purchase price of the product sold

WARRANTY POLICY

Limited Warranty Coverage
Great Lakes Glass Hardware warrants that its hardware products are free from manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of receipt.
This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and only to products installed and used under normal, intended conditions.
What the Warranty Covers
This warranty covers:
- Structural failure or breakage of the hardware itself
- Defects that arise directly from manufacturing errors
If a defect is confirmed, Great Lakes Glass Hardware will, at its discretion:
- Repair the product
- Replace the product
- Refund the purchase price of the defective product
What the Warranty Does NOT Cover
This warranty does not cover:
- Installation errors or improper use
- Glass panels of any kind
- Corrosion, staining, pitting, or discoloration caused by environmental exposure
- Cosmetic changes, scratches, or finish wear
- Use in conditions outside recommended applications
- Improper anchors, fasteners, or mounting methods
- Structural movement, vibration, or settling
- Labor costs, glass replacement, shipping, removal, or reinstallation
Warranty Claim Process
To submit a warranty claim, you must provide:
- Proof of purchase
- Photos and/or video clearly showing the defect
- Description of the application and environment
We may require return of the product for inspection. Claims submitted after the warranty period will not be considered.
Disclaimer of Implied Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, all implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are limited in duration to the one (1) year express warranty period or are disclaimed where permitted.
Limitation of Remedies
The remedies provided under this warranty are the exclusive remedies available. Under no circumstances shall Great Lakes Glass Hardware be liable for:
- Indirect or consequential damages
- Loss of use or loss of profits
- Labor or installation costs
- Damage to glass or surrounding structures
Governing Law
This warranty shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state in which Great Lakes Glass Hardware is registered, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
